Giving Garden Work Party

This week’s work party will be lead by Adeline Schmidt from NESTL, Northeast Seattle Tool Library.  She may be a tad late due to work schedule, but please feel free to get started.

Bring a hand cultivator if you have one.

This week’s tasks include:

  • Weeding!  Early spring weeds are easy to uproot.   Pull larger weeds and compost.   Cultivatie in and around our little plants in all the beds with a hand cultivator.

  • Weed the perimeter where the boards meet the common garden paths.

  • Finish staking and caging tomatoes

  • Fill in potato bed gaps with volunteer sprouts still appearing randomly throughout the garden

  • Dig up a comfrey plant on the NW corner of the roof shelter area.  Put in trash, not compost pile.

  • Carefully thin the row of kale sprouts.

  • Carefully weed and replant gaps in bean rows
