Children’s Garden: Seed Starting

Seed Starting Program for Kids and Grownups

Everyone welcome - kids, families and Picardo gardeners!

Meet in the pavilion

Start flowers and veggies with many fun, inexpensive, unlikely, every day things you have at home! 

  • Make a seed starting kit

  • Start scarlett runner beans for the Children's Garden teepee!

  Bring:

  • a clear plastic veggie or fruit container 6 x 4 ; 8 x 6 (the kind used for blue berries, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, salad greens etc.) for each person or one per family 

  • seeds you want to plant and some to share; we have some additional seeds

  • beverage for yourself, your family, and a snack to share

  • a friend

Meet in the Children's Garden   

Plant potatoes, peas and Square Foot Garden w/ semi-shade veggies & seeds

Bring:

  • gloves, beverage & lunch for you/ your family, a snack to share 

Take some scarlett runner bean seeds home to start seedlings for the teepee
