Raspberry lovers...
Did you know that Picardo has multiple communal raspberry patches if they are too much for your small plot?
This week’s talk will take place in the first communal raspberry patch near the Pavilion (which has a super cool underground olla system).
That original berry patch is an everbearing patch (multiple crops each year) and we'll be:
pruning out the old canes
fertilizing
mulching
managing buttercup as a benefit for bees and berries
learning about training and supporting the new canes
meeting our official new Raspberry Steward Lisa Fearn who will be coordinating the summer watering schedule in collaboration with myself and Michael Hayes, the Orchard team leader.
